Sir Christopher Frayling is the former Rector of the Royal College of Art.  He was also Chairman of Arts Council England and the longest serving Trustee of the V & A.  He has also been Chairman of the Design Council and a Governor of the BFI.

He is a well-known historian, writer, art critic and an award-winning broadcaster regularly appearing on TV and radio.  He has published over seventeen books and many articles on contemporary art, design, film and the history of ideas.

He was knighted for his services to art and design education in 2000.
