Claire has taught Performing Arts at HCA since 2017. She is an actor, director, theatre-maker, facilitator and teacher.

Outside of HCA, Claire is Artistic Director of Open Sky Theatre – a new writing, physical and digital theatre company based in Herefordshire since 2012 -⁠ www.openskytheatre.co.uk

For Open Sky Claire has co-created and directed Cold, The Disappearing Act, Scorched, Hairy Fairy Tails and The Mighty Prince and over-seen the creation of digital theatre series MicroPlays. Claire had her feature film debut in 2014’s Here and Now. Before founding Open Sky, Claire was co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of RedCape Theatre where she conceived, devised and performed The Idiot Colony (Fringe First, Total Theatre Award). She directed From Newbury With Love at the Newbury Corn Exchange and developed 1 Beach Road. Claire directed The Harbour for Limbik Theatre (2010 Prague Festival Creative Award) and she created and performed Something Blue with Jammy Voo. Claire was a finalist for the 2008 Samuel Beckett Award with her stage adaptation of Berta La Larga. All work referenced was funded by Arts Council England.

Claire studied Theatre Studies BA (Hons) at Lancaster University and trained in Mime and Physical Theatre at École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, Paris. She has also completed École Lecoq’s ‘Laboratoire d’Etude de Mouvement’ and ‘Pedagogical Training’ intensives.

Claire has worked in the UK theatre industry for 25 years and been a happy Herefordshire resident since 2009. She loves teaching theatre and is passionate about sharing what she’s learnt with the next generation of artists.
