John has two BA (hons) degrees from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and the University of Sussex, respectively. After a five year career as a professional musician, John moved into digital content and internet marketing, working for a major agency on the south coast.

In 2010, John moved back to Hereford with his business partner and lifelong friend Rob Thomas, where they set up Designbysoap Ltd, a full-service digital agency specialising in information design and inbound marketing.

Over the last eight years, Designbysoap has grown into one of the UK’s most renowned digital marketing agencies, working for major national and international brands including Google, IBM, Yahoo, the UN, the European Commission, the Royal Mint, PayPal, the Bank of England, Discover, American Express, Sony, the BBC, Universal, the NHS, Ford, BMW, GE and scores of others.

John is also a published author, signed to Defiore & Company literary agents in New York. His debut book Visualizing The Beatles, designed with Rob Thomas, is out now on Harper Collins in the US, as well as publishers in the UK, Spain and Germany.

In addition to Designbysoap Ltd, John is also a co-founder of Visual Arcade, a new design studio supplying limited edition prints, design-led books and unique personalised gifts.
