I am a practising textile artist as well as having the privilege of teaching within Further and Higher Education. I have taught in this sector for over 20 years, delivering lectures, seminars, supervising research projects and facilitating creative art, design and craft projects. I have a MA in Post-Compulsory Education and am just about to embark on a practice- based PhD in Textiles.

I have always had a passion for underpinning creative practice with theory and this manifests itself in my own work and also in my approach to teaching. The ambition to extend confidence in working conceptually and using research methodologies with relevance in creative practice has a particular resonance to my role as a maker and tutor.

As a practising maker I belong to an exhibiting group called Fibre Art Wales. I teach textile and stitch workshops, give artist talks, undertake artist in residence opportunities, exhibit in group and solo shows in the UK and US. I recently completed a textile commission for the new craft exhibition space at St Fagans, Gweithdy. I have worked on public engagements projects and museum based art initiatives.

At HCA I teach on the MA Contemporary Crafts programme, deliver the critical studies lectures and seminars for L5 BA Textiles students and supervise L6 dissertations.
