At the end of June, Hereford College of Arts graduating students from our degree courses in Artist Blacksmithing, Contemporary Design Crafts and Jewellery Design brought their work to London’s New Designers exhibition, an annual showcase of hot new talent from universities across the UK. We are so pleased to announce that as part of the exhibition two HCA students have been recognized for their talents as makers and young designers.

Congratulations to Beatrice Wall, BA (Hons) Contemporary Design Crafts, for winning the New Designers Craft & Design Associate Prize!

Here is what the judges had to say about Bea’s collection of enamelled copper beetles: “Beatrice’s work is original and innovative – a sense of fun combined with metalworking and enamelling skills. She has great enthusiasm for her work and a clear idea of what she’d like to do with it in the future.”

Congratulations to Nicola Lillie, also from BA (Hons) Contemporary Design Crafts, for being recognized as ‘One to Watch’ for her collection of jewellery brooches inspired by personal stories and architecture!
