Pangolin London and StourSpace interviews were an eye opening experience of what is required to run a gallery and a communal studio for makers and artists. The sheer amount of work needed to get to the position that these galleries are at is immense. Also during my interview with StourSpace I may have found an example of what I wanted to do for my business, the atmosphere of being surrounded by makers and artists is superb everyone is active and happy to have a chat and bounce ideas around. I also worked with Blacksmith Wendy Alford, the workshop was cosy with two fires and very well equipped, I worked with Wendy on elements of a gate and a railing. Throughout both I was constantly pushed to improve on accuracy and speed and this was accompanied with a lot of smith and striker work which again helped me with my forging speed and accuracy”.
