Our 2016 Symposium kicked off this wednesday

Prof Phil Cleaver
Prof Phil Cleaver delivered an informative and amusing talk about his career in the Design industry and working around the world, to encourage questions from the audience he offered bribes of beautifully hand printed postcards, ‘cards for questions’ was a very successful tactic.

Text Book Studios:
Vicky’s talk on her journey from graduation six years ago included advice on networking, collaborative working, good and bad advice received and creating a productive studio space, third years in particular were very receptive to this.

Darren Raven:
This talk had a workshop element which kept the audience engaged, after looking at emerging products which automate some design practices we were asked to consider potential future roles such as… ‘fusionist’, ‘Drone experience designer’, ‘Avatar programmer’, ‘Interventionist’, ‘embodied interactions designer’ and others. The discussed outcomes were exciting and scary in equal measures.
