Title: “Round and ‘Round We Go!”

Transition: Rethinking waste through material transformation

The concept was inspired by my own growing awareness of the amount of resources that are currently being consumed by humanity, the unsustainable nature of this consumption and the idea that transforming and incorporating old items into new objects is one way among many to work against this overconsumption. I wanted to transform the chain in such a way that it would still be recognisable for what it was, but obviously be something else as a way of highlighting the transition from one manifestation to another. The final piece for the exhibition will be composed of seven partial sphere sections representative of seven continents. Seven continents all linked by a need to rethink how we produce things and deal with the things that have been produced!
