Last week, the students who take part in our free Saturday Arts Club had the amazing opportunity to exhibit their work at the Great Hall in Kings College London alongside many other talented 12 – 16 years olds from all over the UK. If thats not enough they also had a welcome talk from Lady Frances Sorrell, who set up the scheme, followed by lunch on Seaman’s Terrace at Somerset House, then a guided tour of the Courtauld Gallery and a visit to Tate Modern. Phew – what a busy day!

The National Arts & Design Saturday Club was set up in 2009 by the Sorrell Foundation, a charitable organisation dedicated to inspiring creativity in young people and giving them a pathway in further and higher education.

This very popular club provides a fantastic opportunity to pick-up new skills and techniques and also be taught by our specialist tutors and practitioners. It even includes a masterclass by a really famous artist or designer. The Club also uses the workshops and studios which really opens-up creative possibilities, processes and kit that may not be available in schools.

Our students had an amzing day out – have a look at the photos below to see what they, and some of the other groups, got up to!
