Open issue 243 January/February 2016 and flick to page six and there is a picture of me chatting to Rory at the forge and a short bio, and the reason why? I’ve have been asked to be a specialist judge in the wood and metal category for the Craft and Design Selected Maker Awards 2016!

The awards are now in their eighth year and start with an online, public vote that has already opened, so you can all get involved in the shortlisting process by going to www.craftmaker.co.uk

Following the public vote, the invited judges work together to establish one gold winner, two silver award winners and three finalists in each category, with one person being awarded the overall Craft & Design Maker of the Year. It’s a real privilege to be invited to be a judge in such a prestigious competition and I look forward to the final selections.
