The Gravity series of lectures is a opportunity for us to invite high profile practitioners to come and talk about their practice. We invite people from a variety of disciplines within the Crafts and yesterday was our first Gravity Lecture of the new academic year. Peter Parkinson, eminent Artist Blacksmith and writer came for the day. We kept him busy with several additional presentations about the importance of drawing as well as his Gravity Lecture. Lots of Artist Blacksmith students bought in their copies of his publications Forged Artitectural Metalwork and The Artist Blacksmith – Design and Techniques to be signed, and we all had a inspiring and thought provoking day.
