I have recently been made aware of some recent graduate success by one of our former colleagues here at Hereford College of Arts, Chris Noble. Rather than me rephrase his email, I think I’ll let Chris do the talking.

“The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, the UK’s oldest craft guild, once more selected half a dozen recent graduates from Hereford College of Arts to exhibit alongside members at their hugely successful Summer Show in Chipping Campden. Rhian Wyn Jones and Rory Zochowski, both Artist Blacksmiths, Nicola Lillie and Melissa Morgan, both Jewellery Designers, Ella Sibley Sparling, Contemporary Furniture Designer, and Matthew Day who works with 3-D digital printing to create sculptural forms, were selected by two of the Guilds members.

Their work was widely admired and the subject of many conversations; Matt Day was awarded the prize of £500 for the most promising graduate by the charitable foundation Artisa. The Guild has a remit to not only promote the work of its members but to engage and educate the public as well as encourage young makers in the early stages of their careers.”

I’m sure you will agree, this was a great opportunity for our recent graduates, and as a College we are very grateful to the Gloucestershire Guild Of Craftsmen for their continued support.

In closing I would like to congratulate our students on their continued success, we know there will be more to come!
