September means only one thing in Business Services – the start of term and of course the arrival of a nip in the air first thing, conkers on the ground and the need to sort out the knitwear!

The College is now buzzing with students, a great mix of excited new faces and second years returning with stories of Summer adventures. This is only the start as we have yet to welcome our degree students later in the month.

For Business Services it’s all go, having realised my hair had grown quite a bit I had to do a quick update of all things online and get down to business. With our new College Road Campus due to open this term, a packed Short Course and Business Programme to promote and plenty of great live briefs and enterprise projects to explore there is not time to spare.

Businesses are really engaging with the College which is great, partly because it means I am doing my job but most importantly because it means our students get the opportunity to get work related experience, through live briefs and placements.

Enterprise is also big on the agenda this term, we love a bit of Enterprise in the Creative Industries so this year our younger students will be participating in the national Young Enterprise Scheme as well as other initiatives including our annual Affordable Arts Fair.

So, with my photo done, its time to get out there and get busy, i am looking forward to catching up with many and meeting new faces and discussing new opportunities and how the College can engage and work with businesses and organisations from all sectors – after all everyone needs a bit of creativity in their business!
