Foundation Diploma Week One

We are delighted to welcome the new cohort to the Foundation Diploma and Portfolio courses in the studio this week. Already – in between workshop and photography inductions – we have got off to a flying start with a Blu-Tack exhibition of summer work in the Foundation Studios.

The Foundation Diploma and Portfolio Course offers students a broad and diagnostic learning experience – over the next five weeks will be exploring ideas and processes in the specialist workshops and student will be developing their visual language in order to consolidate their specialisms.

We love that the course offers students a bespoke and creative opportunity and that all of the learning outcomes are personal responses from each student – not just making our job exciting, but giving students a genuine peer learning experience from the word ‘go’.

Pictured are some more of the holiday work outcomes.  We are off on out first educational visit to Bristol on Thursday, where the students will be expected to ‘fill a sketchbook in a day’.

All of the sketchbooks will be exhibited in the Folly Lane exhibition space over the next few weeks. Regular exposure to exhibition and collaboration opportunities reinforce the ethos of professional practice and employability that we have on the course; we believe that this is reflected in our outstanding progression rates to university.
