The Society of Designer Craftsmen has just held its annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries. The exhibition was open from 8th to 17th January and Dan Calderwood, who graduated from Artist Blacksmithing last year, was one of the graduates invited to participate. The Society selected Dan and awarded him a licentiate membership last year whilst he was exhibiting at the New Designers Exhibition in Islington.
As a new licentiate member, he was invited to participate in the Mall Galleries exhibition, alongside established designers, and, ahem, hot off the press: the great news is that he was awarded a distinction! This is a prized accolade and is a very promising indication of how Dan’s work is and will be received by galleries and curators.
