We have a WINNER on BA (Hons) Textile Design!

We are thrilled to announce that Elaine Moore, 2nd Year BA (Hons) Textile Design student has won 3rd Prize in the extremely prestigious Bradford Textile Society Design Competition. She entered the Clothworkers Foundation Award for “A fabric for either fashion or interiors which shows an innovative combination of textile processes”.

This is the first year we have entered the Design Competition and the quality of work entered by our 2nd Years as part of their Professional Application Module was excellent. The Bradford Textile Society Design Competition has entrants from the most highly regarded Textile Design degree courses throughout the UK so the competition is fierce and the standard very high.

For Elaine, who only joined us this year into her 2nd year (having completed her first year at Hereford College of Arts on the Contemporary Design Crafts course) and has only recently started weaving, this win has been a great boost. She is demonstrating a very high level of technical and creative ability and has picked up the fundamentals of weave very quickly. Her work will have been judged alongside contemporaries who have had intensive training in weave over 2 years so for her skills to be commended shows what a natural she is.

So, a huge congratulations to Elaine from us all. She will be going to Bradford on May 5th for her Award Ceremony so watch this space for more information.
