Last week Andy Rowe from Dar Design called to ask if we had a student who could help him install some gates in Cambridge so I asked one of our third years Leszek if he’d like to assist .

“I had a chance to help to install an amazing set of gates made by Andrew Rowe of Dar Design . This was a great opportunity to see what issues blacksmith are facing while working on large scale commissions, and how to deal with them. As the old saying say “No plan survives meeting with reality” and from the beginning  and we had to deal with delay of the delivery poor quality of painting, concrete being lay to high etc. I was impressed how Andrew dealt with each of them, and even though we were faced with all those issues we were able to deliver the commission on time. Now I have much better understanding of how to work on the large scale design and how to deal with problems that can happen on site.”
