Our second years handed in their Exploration module projects recently and what an amazing module it was.
There was some trepidation in the beginning as they dusted off the curious looking machines and threaded up their yarns, especially as most of them had never used a knitting machine before.
But through workshops and pure determination, including one-or-two eBay purchases so they could set-up machines at home, everyone worked really hard and created some gorgeous fabrics.
Fringing and embellishment was a big trend…
As well as sublimation printing directly onto knit and to create unique yarns…
Unconventional and found materials were also a hit…
Well done to everyone, and great to see so many “future knitters” emerging!
