Young Photographer of the Year 2014

Published on 25.06.14

Our annual competition aims to find the big photography names of tomorrow.  Are you aged between 9 – 19 years old and have a passion for photography?  If so we want to see your pictures! We don’t mind if you’ve been photographing as a hobby for a long time, or have recently begun snapping away

Our annual competition aims to find the big photography names of tomorrow.  Are you aged between 9 – 19 years old and have a passion for photography?  If so we want to see your pictures!

We don’t mind if you’ve been photographing as a hobby for a long time, or have recently begun snapping away at the world around you – all entries are encouraged and welcomed!

You’ll need to shoot your images as a response to the set theme, so you can be as creative as you like. We love stories behind images too, so you’re welcome to tell us what your image means to you, and why you decided to choose it.

The theme for this year is: ENERGY

The theme can be visualised in many different ways and we welcome a range of entries that could include portraiture, landscape, abstract, black and white– to name but a few! Our professional panel of judges will want to see them all.

Closing date: Friday 12th September 2014

As well as some amazing prizes on offer, entrants will also have their work exhibited at Hereford College of Arts in the Autumn Term.

For full details visit the Young Photographer of the Year Competition Blog, where you’ll also find lots of inspiration and ideas.

Good Luck!

Thanks to Certainly Wood and I A Technology for very kindly sponsoring the competition this year, and Abii Birkett, winner of YPC 2013, for the image used in our poster (above)
