This time of year is so exciting and full on. The Degree Show came down on Saturday afternoon and then we packed up for New Designers on Monday morning.

New Designers is the UK’s most important exhibition for emerging design, full of innovation and fresh thinking. It takes place over two weeks, with each part focusing on a different set of design disciplines and featuring its own Awards Programme.

The show sees over 3,000 of the most talented, newly graduated designers from the UK’s leading universities come together to exhibit in one spectacular venue – the Business Design Centre, London.

As a course, we have been going to New Designers for over a decade, and I really believe that this is a fantastic opportunity for students to launch their careers.  You can never tell exactly what is going to happen during the show; some students sell work, others are offered editorial space and lots of students are picked up for exhibition opportunities, but one thing is for sure, it will be hot sticky and absolutely exhausting!

Here we are squeezing all the work into the Box Luton van; everyone was excited but feeling quite nervous. It took us a week to put up the Degree Show, and we had to put up New Designers in a day.

Before the show, all the students create an online portfolio which is linked to the New Designers website.  To check out their portfolios, follow this link!
