Saturday Arts Club Catwalk Cow Project

Yesterday, a group of our National Art & Design Saturday Club members spent the day getting creative for an udderly wonderful project! As part of the August Bank Holiday celebrations over at the Old Market, Hereford, we were asked to take part in their Catwalk Cows – decorating a life size plastic cow!

There will be three cows visiting Old Market this Bank Holiday weekend, two of which have been decorated by members of the Hereford Community – Hereford College of Arts and The Courtyard. The third visiting cow will be available to decorate at Old Market over the bank holiday weekend outside TK Maxx. There will also be a vote for the most wonderful Catwalk Cow so make sure you vote for HCA!!

We took our inspiration for this project from the Painted Cows, which feature prominently in many Fiestas and celebrations throughout Europe. All of our students were asked to bring along inspiration and sketchbook work with them. The final design sees all of their individual ideas come together in a wonderful collaboration.
