We have nine MA Contemporary Crafts students and over the next few blog posts I’ll be introducing all of them to you.

Reflecting on why she chose to do an MA Rebecca writes:

“I completed my BA in Bradford in 1992. After exhibiting my work mainly abroad up till now I decided it was time to further my education by studying a Masters course. Why Hereford College of Arts? Well, as I started my Foundation in Hereford it seemed a great opportunity to return to where it all began.”

Rebecca outlines the focus of her MA project:

“For my MA project I plan to explore how everyday objects that I have collected and the aesthetics of Natural History can be used to explore and inspire the craft production of secret boxes. Drawing inspiration from the Victorian culture of collecting, my project aims to develop a series of two and three dimensional works that will lead to the making of contemporary display boxes. I intend to work in a broad range of materials and techniques including printmaking, textiles and stitch, metal, clay and type to reflect my ideas.”
