Golden Ticket Blog – Cohort Event

On Saturday, we held our first in person Open Event since the global pandemic and it was so nice to meet our prospective students in person, as it hasn’t been possible for some up until now! Within the Open Event, we welcomed many of you who are joining us in September. If you were unable to come to the event, here’s an overview of what you missed!

Our Campuses 4

The event started with a welcome talk from our Principal, Abigail Appleton & our Head of Higher Education, Justin Gregory. Following the welcome talk, visitors were able to join a tour around our College Road Campus to familiarise themselves with the building. Visitors were able to tour our workshops, studio spaces, IT areas & our communal areas, such as the café. Another great way to explore our campus if you weren’t able to make the event, is to take a look at our virtual tour here.

Golden Ticket Blog - Cohort Event 2

Our tours were lead by our Graduate Ambassadors Kath and Martyn, as well as our Student Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator, Andrew. Kath graduated in 2019 from our MA in Contemporary Design Crafts. Here is Kath’s top tip for those of you who are joining us in September:

Don’t be nervous. The creative community is really looking forward to welcoming you. My advice is to say yes to every opportunity that is offered to you, even if it might be scary. We always say to our students – you get out what you put in!

Visitors were also invited to join a course talk with the tutors of the course that they are joining. This was a great opportunity for students to ask any further questions that they have about the course, in person! If you were unable to attend, but still have questions about your course, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, we are always happy to help.

Festival of Arts

The event also offered visitors a chance to have a final look at the Festival of Arts, degree level exhibition. If you didn’t get the chance to visit the show, our exhibitions are still accessible online, take a look here to find out more.
