All the students are working in teams that Jake has set up. They are predominately second year teams with the majority being headed up by a third year and working with a mix of first and second years. It’s a bench with many parts so each team has a specific component to forge.

Balancing my day between interviews, meetings and being at the forge is a challenge but I am driving out as often as I can! When I popped over today at lunchtime, I was able to record this bit of footage of Jake working with Joe Black, one of our current third years, as he fullered the large sun motif that is central to the bench design.

Its great seeing everyone working together as a team and loving a full week at the forge. There is a freedom that comes with a forging masterclass when someone else is making the key design decisions and the teams are just loving working with hot metal.

I took one hundred doughnuts and they soon disappeared. Enjoy the videos.
