This summer the Anvils went on tour, first stop: the International Blacksmith Festival at West Point, Devon.  The Festival ran from August 13th to 16th with the competition attracting forge teams from around the world and an exceptionally high standard was seen throughout.

Our team of students were tasked with designing and producing a panel. Their work was beautifully executed with some really nice forged details and connections and the good news: the Anvils came third! They were one of the first teams to compete and certainly the team that garnered the most media attention with Christian even being interviewed for the 6pm news!

Forge competitions are a big part of the blacksmithing festival scene and I am always really proud to see an Anvils team in action. Over the years we have competed in the Ukraine, Italy and across the UK and have more exciting events planned for 2015.

Well done to this Anvils team, that included Max Anderson, Aaron Lang, Matt Garton, Sam Pearce, Christian Jones and, heading up the team, our very own Artist Blacksmithing lecturer, Ambrose Burne.
