Advance Processes – Joshua Madley Pollard

ABAP is a second year module which is focussed on students exploring and testing a specific forge process and annotating, analysing and evaluating their findings in a technical journal.

Joshua explored pattern welding and forged his billets from lots of recycled materials from chain saw blades through to bicycle chains and files.  He wanted to have flowing patterns and movement through his billets.  I really liked seeing all the billets laid on the forge floor last week, knowing that when they were polished up, incredible and intricate patterns would be revealed
