Wow! This week we had the biggest Artist Blacksmithing Open Day, with over twenty-five potential applicants coming to view the programme. Many came with their parents or their partners, so we filled a coach to travel to the forge workshop at Holme Lacy. They had travelled from far and wide to attend, with some travelling from as far away as Germany and Scotland.

I love taking potential applicants to the forge and seeing their faces light up at the scale of the workshop and the heat of forty-four fires burning. All the students had their Anvil t-shirts on, and I really appreciated their enthusiasm and commitment to the course, which was so clearly demonstrated when they talked to prospective students. Thank you team!

We have another two Open Days coming up and I have been busy talking to potential applicants from America and Canada on Skype so onwards to the class of 2016!
