Students at Hereford College of Arts (HCA) have received a record high at the results day, significantly above the UK national average for UCAS point equivalent A-levels.

The college’s focus aims to develop students to achieve their creative potential through collaboration and innovation. Students are encouraged to shape their own futures in the creative, digital and performance industries.

HCA offer two-year Extended Diploma courses at college-level that deliver UCAS points for progression to university, in just the same way as A-levels. 45% of Performing Arts students achieved points equivalent to A*A*A* at A level. HCA fully equips students for university-level study. This year’s high-achieving students have secured positions at leading Drama Schools in the UK.

Ben Gamble, Head of Further Education, said: “Congratulations to all our students on their success, this year has been a particularly strong with grades and achievements. These outstanding results reflect the hard work and commitment that has gone into their studies and we would like to wish them well as they take up their places at university.”

Sarah Pitcher, said: “Having taken a level three extended diploma at HCA, I know first-hand just how good the workshops at Folly Lane are, and with Contemporary Design Crafts being a degree focused around both the traditional and digital sides of craft that uses materials and processes from across both campuses, I’m super excited to get stuck into the array of projects and learn some new skills. I can’t wait to start”
