Over the festive period, multiple performers fell ill with Covid-19 on the Regal Theatre Tenbury Wells professional pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’. With only 2 hours rehearsal, one former and one current student of performing arts at HCA stepped into the roles of Fairy Tabatha and the lead female ensemble in order that the panto could complete its run, learning lines, dance moves and songs, including two heavy-weight power ballads for Fairy Tabatha.

Macy (left) completed her Extended Diploma in Performing Arts in 2021 with a Distinction and is currently on the L4 Professional Diploma in Performing Arts at HCA. She currently teaches Stagecoach lessons in Gloucester and, as well as musical theatre, she has a strong interest in writing and directing. She has already performed with Pentabus Theatre this year. Macy is applying to the BA (Hons) Performing Arts at HCA for 2022.

Gracie (right) graduated with a Distinction in her Diploma in Performing Arts in 2020. Her most notable performance on the course was in Jim Cartwright’s Road which the college performed at Birmingham Rep. Gracie is currently in her second year of studying a BA in Musical Theatre at Central School of Speech and Drama.
