Results Day 2025

HCA students achieved a remarkable percentage of high grades - which paired with high-level portfolios and audition tapes - have opened the door to some of the most competitive creative universities, arts schools, and careers in the UK.

The total pass rate across all Extended Diplomas - equivalent to three A-Levels - was 98.3%, while an incredible 43% of all 18- and 19-year old students achieved a Distinction - the equivalent grade to three A*s.

Two HCA students - Bea Bowie and Connie Paterson - were also selected to exhibit their final project work at the prestigious UAL Origins show in London earlier this summer.

33 Foundation diploma (Art and Design) students - 43% of the group - achieved a Distinction, compared to a national average of around 25%.  In addition to that 100% of mature students studying the Foundation diploma (21 years+ pathway) passed.

Excited students receive results at Folly Lane

The world needs creative minds like never before and I am confident that this year’s progressing students will go on to use their skills, talents and personal attributes to make a positive impact on our ever changing the world. Creative education is not only a gateway to an extraordinary range of careers within the creative industries but opens up a world of other opportunities; it develops core skills and competencies required across many different areas of work that will help students thrive in a changing landscape.

HCA is also celebrating the success of its Level 2 Diploma students this week, with results showing high achievement and strong progression onto further study.

With the one-year L2 UAL Awarding Body diploma equivalent to 4 GCSEs, students achieved outstanding pass rates across all four subject areas.

100% of students receiving results today in Creative Media production and Technology, Music Production and Performance, and Performing and Production Arts passed, with Art, Design and communication  also recording a 91% pass rate. Many learners also achieved distinctions, with one in four students securing the top grade.

Progression into further study has been strong, with the majority of students choosing to continue their journey at HCA. Notably, 91% of Music students and 73% of Creative Media students progressed directly onto a Level 3 Diploma, alongside half of Art & Design students and a third of those in Performing Arts.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination shown by our Level 2 Diploma students. Success at this stage is the result not only of students’ own commitment but also the dedication of our experienced and subject specific staff, and the encouragement of families, carers and schools who have supported them along the way. Many of the students who have achieved so well today have also succeeded in passing their English or Maths GCSE this year at HCA, a testament to our small group teaching and focus on core academic skills across all curriculum areas.
