Discover Shakespeare in the rehearsal room - use acting games, exercises and techniques to delve into classic Shakespeare scenes in an approachable, pragmatic way.

Overview

Step into the rehearsal room and discover Shakespeare through movement, play, and performance. This practical, on-your-feet course brings Shakespeare’s scenes to life using games, exercises, rehearsal techniques and guided scene study.

Whether you’ve always been curious about Shakespeare, feel nervous about tackling verse, or simply want to strengthen your acting skills, this course offers a welcoming and inspiring way in. Each week you’ll explore scenes and monologues from Shakespeare’s classic plays, focusing on a different aspect of performance — from character and language to truthful listening, emotional readiness and making the verse your own.

Working in a supportive ensemble, you’ll learn how to take text off the page and into bold, authentic performance. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with greater confidence, a practical acting toolkit, and fresh insight into performing Shakespeare with clarity, freedom and joy.
