Course Overview


This dynamic printmaking course takes you on a creative journey through a variety of exciting techniques. You'll start by exploring simple yet impactful methods like lino printing, then move on to more complex processes such as Monoprinting and Drypoint, where you'll learn to create intricate designs with rich textures.

As the course progresses, you'll discover the textural possibilities of Collagraph and the eco-friendly approach of Tetra Pak printing, among other techniques.

About the Tutor

Jess is an award-winning printmaker and educator, specializing in Linocut, Risograph, Collagraph, and Takuhon. She teaches workshops across the UK and leads the Print Workshop at College Road Campus. Recent accolades include the Hawthorn Prize for Excellence in Printmaking (Flourish Awards 2024) and the Peter Reddick Bursary for Innovation in Relief Printmaking.

Term Dates

Term starts on Tuesday 30th September. There will be 10 sessions with a break for half term on 28th October. The final session will be on 9th December.

FAQs

Basic materials are provided on all of our short courses, and you will be advised on any additional materials you may want to buy for personal projects whilst on the short course. 

You may want to bring a sketchbook for taking notes. We sell these at our college shop so you can buy one before your class starts if you want to. 

Make sure to bring some water, and dress appropriately for using college equipment (for example, no open-toed shoes and long hair tied back when using workshop equipment).
