From studios to support, see what sets us apart. Explore the courses. Walk the campus. Meet the people who’ve made Hereford their creative home.

The best way to know if a place feels right is to be there.

Our Open Events are designed to be open. Scheduled sessions happen through the day - and you choose the topics you want to explore in more depth.

There's no pressure. This is a day to explore, ask questions, and imagine what your future could look like.

Whether you know exactly what you want to study - or you are looking for some guidance on picking a specialism and making an application - you can focus on what matters to you, and get the individual support you need to take your next steps.

What to expect

  1. Discover what you want to study

Speed-date courses at our drop-in sessions, talk to current students one-on-one and use the day to find a course that really feeds your imagination.

  2. Get a feel for where you’ll live

From student accommodation to local food and shopping - visiting the city centre is a great way to see yourself studying here.

  3. Dive deep on a subject

Small group sessions give you the time to get to know course leaders, and ask the questions that matter to you. You can also take a specialist tour of the studios and technical workshops most used on the course.

  4. Find out what matters to you

Drop-in on our marketplace and join sessions covering everything from wellbeing to neurodivergence, student finance options and portfolio or audition advice. Get first-hand guidance on the application process for creative courses, and find out more about our wraparound student support.

Yes. Course talks are a great way to get a feel for a subject area, and to dig into the specifics of the course.

Course leaders hold multiple talks through the day - these include a Q+A session often involving current students, and a tour of some of the specialist facilities you will be using.

We pride ourselves as being an accessible campus that is welcoming to everyone.

You can email outreach@hca.ac.uk with any specific questions, or to make any necessary adjustments. There will also be the opportunity to find out more about HCA's support for students while studying.

There is plenty of on-site parking. As you pull in to our College Road campus you will see parking immediately to your left and right.

Absolutely. There's a lot to take in, so having someone to talk it through with can help.

Feel free to bring as many guests as you want - but some sessions may have a limited capacity, and where necessary we may need to restrict attendance to one student and one guest.
