The Artist Blacksmith BA is in my opinion one of the best places to go to quickly advance your skill set as a practitioners of the blacksmith craft.

The tutors are passionate when it comes to the craft, and have real life experiences with how to make a living of blacksmithing. They are always accessible when you get stuck or in need of advice, and provide ample assistance if and when you need it. They strive to help you develop as much as you possible can in the span of 3 years.

I personally struggle with writing and the written work can seem quite daunting, but HCA has a fantastic learning support team at study plus that will help you in any way they can to get you through the essays and dissertation.

Hereford College of Arts is a place to dedicate time to develop your possible future practice for a couple of years; it is very much a “get what you put in” kind of deal.

Before I came to HCA I really struggled with the design process, lacking in knowledge and experience with design methodologies always felt like an obstacle in developing my forging skills. The fact that I have started to find my methods of designing forged work over the span of three years is something I think I will always think back on with a sense of accomplishment.
