I grew up in the beauty of Cambridgeshire’s Fenland, which inspired my passion for drawing and painting the natural world.  My mixed media art deals with issues I am passionate about, for example, nature and wildlife, climate change and the environment along with personal issues such as identity and displacement.

My aim was to document the unprecedented global situation that we are in today. Many artists throughout history have found ways to draw an absence. I was particularly inspired by the photographer Eleanor Antin. Covid-19 Landscape is a series of photographs in which I have tried to capture the dramatic changes in the way the urban landscape looks during the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. What were once busy streets are now quiet and eerily deserted.  I represented the missing people by placing shoes and boots where people would have been: waiting for a bus, crossing the street, buying a train ticket.  These are presented as A4 prints but they work well printed directly onto brushed aluminium.

My future goal is to become an art psychotherapist and open a wellbeing centre which will offer pioneering therapies which will help heal our society and make the world a happier place.
