Hi, I’m Ollie! This past year my understanding of design has come on leaps and bounds from what I thought I was capable of before the start of my design journey. I’ve always been interested in the bigger issues that go on in the world and I want to be able to communicate my voice and the voices of others in society. For my final project this year I have created a newspaper publication called Exposed, which focuses on uncovering the truth behind issues, places and people.

With all the coverage in the news today about the global pandemic that we are currently facing, it’s hard to learn about what is still going on around us and we therefore, not out of our own fault, seem to become oblivious to the injustices that people face across the world. What I hope this publication can achieve is that people’s voices and experiences won’t be lost, and if I can use my role as a designer to help educate and expose these issues, I’m more than willing to help.

I’d describe myself as multi-disciplinary, with my work reaching many different formats. This year I have also reached into areas of web design, with me exploring the possibilities of UI & UX with the creation of a prototype design that covers the Apollo 11 mission.
