Annwfn: The Mabinogi

This body of work is inspired by and celebrates the mythology surrounding the Welsh folk epic “The Mabinogion”. The magic of the forest provides a theatre for natural and supernatural forces; where imaginations are heightened, and glimpses into Annwfn (the ‘Other World’) is possible; a place where shape-shifting creatures emerge.  The fragile paper creatures, mist and light interpret the elusive nature of environment and myth. These images are a celebration of my Welsh heritage, but also incorporates my adopted eastern philosophies, both of which connect me to the land, its legends, myths and issues of conservation.
