This was my response to a project we were given this year where we were asked to look at a historical artefact and re-make it to the best of our abilities. I chose an eighteenth-century rushlight holder which I found at St. Fagans National Museum of History, Wales. The contemporary lamp which I created was a fun response to this now-defunct form of lighting and making. I absolutely love the clean lines, and the contrasting colours and it is this aesthetic that perhaps is the direction for my future practice.
