What I’m looking into is ‘The Celebration of Life’ frankly this project is very personal to me as I lost my mother and sister earlier this year and instead of mourning them, I want to convey to others the happiness of their life, the experience they’ve given us and to keep them in our fondest memories. I don’t speak for just myself but to everyone who’s been in this situation. This project has also been a journey for me to come to terms with what happened.

I first started into looking into masks as it was something symbolic to my emotional state, all I wanted was to hide what I felt away from everyone; so as my research into masks developed I was drawn to ‘The Day of the Dead Festival’, with all the bright colours and skeletons there was no gloom or anguish, just joy and laughter, and this is what I want to pursue.
