Jordan Knight (L5)BA (Hons) Contemporary Design Crafts

My practice is primarily driven by my fascination with the study of religion, human ritualism and the patterns that connect them. I see craft as a platform to reach people and communicate concepts, emotions and skills that can alter perceptions in ways that other mediums cannot.

The material basis of my practice is in metal work, ranging from mild steel sculptures, to intricate brass and copper pieces. Although I often work in multimedia including wood and polymers.

The submitted piece named “Echinoderm” has taken a different approach than my typical work, being a variation upon research into patterns and ritualism, focusing upon brittle stars through OP art to convey their mesmerising forms.
