Johanna Okon-Watkins (L5)BA (Hons) Fine Art
I delight in making sculptural work that can manifest itself in textiles, clay, paper, metal, discarded objects or materials found in nature.
My inspiration can be an object, a personal memory, a social issue, a visual cue, or an abstract idea.
The process of making is particularly important to me, it is how I explore visual and conceptual ideas. I go on a journey with materials and processes and like to embrace the unexpected.
I hope that viewers bring their own experiences and emotions to my work and respond with curiosity, reflection or amusement.
