My current idea is based upon photographs by Eadweard Muybridge, which explore the way the body of an animal changes as it moves through several stages of an action; for example my main focus is how the body of a dog will shift while it makes a sprinting movement. I have explored the way that the body of a dog (specifically my dog) has its body made up of specific areas of mass while the rest is depicted in my work as just sticks, this fits into my aim of depicting this form in a simpler and more refined way, and I have been trying not to lose what it’s meant to be.

I have made my work increasingly impressionistic in my attempt to break down the body into its fundamentals like this. This work is about an abstracted depiction of change
