‘A League of Our Own’ will celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March 2020.
The event has been organised to honour and commemorate the efforts of all women on International Women’s Day and especially the munitions factory workers of Rotherwas during WW1 and WW2.
The day will kick-off with a women’s football tournament with a host of off the pitch activities running alongside. An art competition that will include work by our Extended Diploma Art and Design students in response to a ‘Women in Sport’ brief will be exhibited at the event and judged by professional artists.
The logo for the event was created by HCA student Scott Bozward who based the design around the colours of the suffragettes. Purple for loyalty and dignity, white for purity, and green for hope.
