Whether the December days feel merry and bright, or frosty and bleak, ‘tis the season to get writing!
Maybe you’d like to make a loved one’s holiday card extra special, spin a ghost story to share on Christmas Eve, put a fresh perspective on the classic nativity play, write a romance or mystery to warm up chilly evenings, or compose a poem capturing the magic of this cold, dark season.
If you want to write this winter but don’t know where to begin, or need more motivation, join us for this one-day creative writing workshop. We’ll read and discuss seasonal examples across different forms - fiction, non-fiction, poetry, lyrics, scripts - to explore the ways winter inspires creative writing. Then with prompts, group activities, and quick-fire writing sprints, we’ll let our imaginations guide us to our own Winter Words.
Pick up a new skill and discover the relaxing art of crochet in this beginner-friendly workshop. With guidance from an experienced tutor, you’ll learn the essential stitches and techniques needed to create your very own cosy beanie — perfect for keeping warm or gifting to someone special.
This hands-on session is ideal for complete beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills, offering a fun and rewarding way to spend a creative day surrounded by yarn, colour, and friendly company.
Discover the craft of bookbinding in this inspiring one-day workshop. You’ll be introduced to a range of simple techniques and learn how to stitch, fold, and assemble your own beautiful hand-bound notebooks.
By the end of the session, you’ll have created several small books, perfect as thoughtful stocking fillers or for jotting down ideas over the Christmas break.
Learn the art of jewellery making and craft your own elegant silver ring in this relaxed, hands-on workshop. Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, you’ll explore key techniques such as shaping, soldering, and polishing silver to create a timeless piece of jewellery.
Whether you’re making a special Christmas gift or treating yourself to something unique, this session offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, get creative, and leave with a beautiful hand-made ring.
