Arts Award Supporter

Hereford College of Arts is a registered Arts Award Supporter.

The College is delighted to be offering the Arts Award Supporter scheme. We are committed to supporting creative adventurers of all ages and have a range of activities and events that can support young people undertaking Arts Award levels.  Some ideas of how we can support specific activities are list below – however, we are happy to consider more bespoke requests from Arts Award Centres and Schools.

   Arts Award Discover

Discover:  What goes on in an Arts College?  We can arrange tours around our workshops and studios to give young people a first-hand view of the diversity of an arts education.

Find out: What kind of work is produced by art students and how do they showcase their work?  We can arrange guided tours around our Summer Shows (held in mid-June). Talk to our finishing students about their creative journey and next steps into a creative career.

Share: What do you think about the work you have seen in our Summer Show?  Sit down with us and tell us what you particularly liked and didn’t like!

   Arts Award Explore

Inspire: Hear from the Pros!  We can give you some handy tips and inspiration, for example – how to build your portfolio, audition techniques for drama and music or writing a statement about your work.

Explore: What’s it like being part of a performance or exhibition?  Come along and watch one of our performances and meet the cast back stage or talk to a professional artist about their exhibition.

Create & Present: Take part in our Schools Expo.  Create a piece of art for our annual exhibition that showcases the great new talent coming from young people in the area.  Get everyone to see your work by inviting your friends, family and teachers to the Private View – stand by your work and tell everyone what inspired you to make it.

   Bronze Arts Award

Take part in an arts activity:  Join our spring and Summer Workshops in the school holidays.  One-day workshops include: Fantasy Make-up, Jamming workshops, Fashion Illustration and many more! (Ask about possible discounted prices for Arts Award students)

Arts review:  Would you like to attend one of our music or drama performances?  We will offer free tickets to see a performance in return for a review of what you have seen.

Arts inspiration:  What is contemporary crafts?  Come along to one of our crafts exhibitions to see the diverse range of objects that make-up crafts practice; from designer jewellery to artist blacksmithing.  Talk to our craft students about their work and future careers.

Arts skills share:  Learn how to run a workshop from us that you can take back to your school or Arts Award Centre.

   Silver & Gold Arts Award

The College would be delighted to consider collaborative projects with Arts Award providers across all levels.  We can also consider mentoring and shadowing. Please contact us at artsaward@hca.ac.uk for further discussion.
