Biography

Tom Hancock is an Hereford College of Arts alumnus with a broad range of material and process experience.

As an exhibitor with HCA at New Designers, Tom picked up the Colour In Design Award for his unique application of colour in his practice. Since graduating Tom has exhibited his work both at home and abroad. Exhibitions such as Future Heritage, Chelsea Harbour, and as a member of the British Capsule representing new British designers at Mason et Objet, Paris. Tom combines skills developed during his previous careers, such as civil engineering and project management with his passion for colour, experimentation, and traditional craft. Drawing upon materials and processes often confined to the world of industrial manufacturing, and bringing them into the colourful and vibrant world of studio craft. As a technical demonstrator, Tom understands and encourages a balance between careful planning and precision, with playful experimentation and the excitement of the unknown.
