Lisa Porch is a textile artist who works with stitch and print. She is a part-time PhD candidate at Cardiff Metropolitan University in her final year of study. Her project assesses the significance of textile arts practices in mourning perinatal loss. Her research has received a highly commended prize from the Audrey Jones Memorial fund and has been published in the journal Textile: Cloth and Culture. As a textile artist she has worked on museums commissions, led schools-based projects, run workshops and taken part in group exhibitions. Lisa has worked as a part-time lecturer in Further and Higher Education for the past 30 years. At HCA she teaches on the Masters in Contemporary Craft and is passionate about how the programme facilitates the development of authentic craft practices empowered and informed by the relationship between theory and practice.
