Rose Lawton

2026 Degree Show - brand design by Dan Harris

BA(Hons) Fine Art

About the artist:

Using Photoshop as a way to create digital images, as an artist, I enjoy the exploration of delving into the K-pop industry and highlighting areas of mistreatment, allowing my work to communicate to those who are unaware or not within the community the hardships which idols face through fan behaviours or through their companies.

About this project:

Throughout my work, I discuss and explore themes in relation to parasocial relationships and the mistreatment of idols through the K-pop industry and how these impacts and distort the perception to the viewer.

I explore this through anaglyph imagery, allowing the work to highlight and display varying messages in dependence to the lighting placed onto the imagery.

  • Industry mistreatment
  • Parasocial relationships between fans and idols
