Performing Arts: Enrolment Information

Hello!

Welcome to the Performing Arts course. I’m absolutely delighted that you’ll be joining us, and I very much look forward to having you here on our College Road Campus in September and working with you over the coming year and beyond.

To help us get to know one another and begin building a supportive, creative community, you are invited to complete a short creative task titled ‘The Essence of Me’ (see the Summer Project for further details).

This is an open, creative project where you will create a piece of work that reveals something about who you are, your values, your experiences, your interests, or what matters to you. You can respond in any format you like (for example: a short film, monologue, movement piece, artwork, poem, photograph, or something else entirely), as long as it feels meaningful and authentic to you. You will also be invited to share the work that you create for this with your year group and talk a little about it during your first weeks on the Rehearsing a Performance module.

This is not assessed; it is simply a way to reflect on who you are, engage with your self-awareness, and introduce yourself to your peers and the teaching team in a way that feels genuine. I’m really looking forward to seeing, hearing, and experiencing the work you choose to bring.

Everyone who has been offered a place on this course, just like you, is here because they are passionate about creativity and the performing arts, and because they bring with them kindness, care, and a willingness to grow. Together, I believe we can build a safe, supportive, playful and inspiring environment in which you’ll feel able to take creative risks, challenge yourself, and develop as an individual, an artist, and a performer.
