The concept of belonging and the connections we have to certain locations is what drives my practice. 

I believe materiality creates a visual discourse between artist and viewer, working primarily with organic, fluid and found objects that hold personal symbolism to home. The act of sculpting allows an understanding of the visceral qualities of my chosen mediums, thus driving the creation of various forms. We are palimpsests of our time; reacting and responding to states growth and decomposition. 

Caught in Between consists of a series of sculptures developed from drawings and writings from a nighttime diary. 

I draw what I experience whilst often repeated, dreams but also waking moments when I cannot sleep, allowing the movement of my pen to guide a sense of sleep. These forms explore the fluidity of moving bodies of water and the capturing of fleeting moments. The mediums I work with help to narrate a sense of movement or decay that respond to my nighttime diary.
